A Journey through Brazilian Popular Music (MPB)
Sambadisch is an original band from Freiburg, Germany, whose main ingredient is a passion for Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), with its rich diversity of musical genres. Through authentic versions of the greatest classics of MPB, the band reinterprets a variety of renowned artists, approaching different rhythms from different regions of Brazil.
This cultural richness is already reflected in the band's lineup: three members hail from Brazil – Afonso (cavaquinho, triangle, vocals), Marcelo (percussion), and Italo (percussion). They are joined by Pedro (vocals, guitar), who is half Brazilian, half Italian; Fabio (percussion) and Moritz (bass), both half Brazilian, half German; and Carolin (vocals, saxophone, flute), a German who lived in Brazil for six years.
The repertoire is eclectic: it goes from samba to forró, from reggae to rock, and travels through the musical transformations that have developed throughout history. Through this musical syncretism, the energy and joy that the band's performances transmit, Sambadisch takes a little piece of Brazil in every performance they give away from Brazilian soil.
Parallel to these authentic versions of MPB, the group is also dedicated to creating their own compositions. Some of them are already out of the oven!
